No Love, No Music & No Music, No Love

Do you have sunshine on a cloudy day? You want to tell someone I’m “Saving All My Love for You”. Or perhaps, you’re simply “Over it”. But, not over some “Sexual Healing”. I don’t blame you if you “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. I’ll stop…
The intensity of love or lack thereof, is often hard to put into words and as proved by many, it’s easier to put it in a song. Since the dawn of time, L.O.V.E has been the creator of the best songs ever made. Like, really think about it. Your favourite song probably has themes of love, if not then I don’t know. Are you familiar with great music? No shade. (or no Sade?)
Love is not a one-way stream and neither is music. Both can be manifested with passion, desire, hate, sadness and affirmation. It’s human to feel all things at once. All those complex emotions being digested by soundwaves pulsing to the rhythm of your heartbeat and scratching that itch in your brain you didn't know you needed. Then it becomes something you can feel whenever you give it a chance. Love and music are one in the same.
In the spirit of Valentine's day, one person comes to mind; Marvin Gaye. He was the best yearner to ever yearn. He sang about love, both its pain and euphoria. A personal favourite is, Just To Keep You Satisfied. My goodness, just the first 5 seconds of that tune can make you miss the worst person ever but like also your baddest b*tch ever. His music has the effect of feeling everything he sang about, even if you never experienced it before. There’s a rawness to his music that is so honest and intimate to the listener.
Perhaps you’re on the flip side, you have no business with Valentine's day. Maybe you don’t have much luck, you haven’t met the one or your heart is just too big so you have to share it. Regardless, there’s a song for every season. There’s nothing wrong with wanting love, it's human. The people yearn for love. What did Drake and Partynextdoor say again ? I mean, their other songs may be misleading… but yes there is somebody out there for real xx
Apart from all the mushy gushy stuff, self love is the best love. I promise there is no healthy love between you and another without it. Even if you’re not in love right now; you need to be sure you’re Just Fine without it, word to sister Mary J Blige.
